Calculation method of power supply and power of stadium led display

The stadium LED display is different from the general LED display. It is not only the application scenario, but more importantly, it requires high-precision information synchronization. The delay will also be unbearable for the audience.

Therefore, the stadium LED display is different from the common LED display. So, is it the same as the ordinary LED display in terms of power supply and power calculation? For this reason, we consulted JYLED’s advanced installation Engineer Li, let him ask us to explain the calculation method of the power and power of the stadium led display.

JYLED senior installation engineer Li said that although the stadium LED display is slightly different from the ordinary LED display in function and appearance, the calculation method is the same. It is just that during installation, more consideration needs to be given to transparency sex.

calculation method

The number of LEDs divided by the number of 74HC595 divided by 8 = fractional scan;

Real pixels correspond to virtual ones: in simple terms, a real pixel screen means that each of the three light-emitting tubes of red, green and blue that constitute the display screen will only participate in the imaging of one pixel in order to obtain sufficient brightness. .

The virtual pixel uses a software algorithm to control the light-emitting tube of each color to finally participate in the imaging of multiple adjacent pixels, so that a larger resolution can be achieved with fewer lamps, and the display resolution can be increased by four times.

Calculation method of the number of LED display power supply

The power supply is 30A and 40A; single color is 8 unit boards and 1 40A power supply, and double color is 6 unit boards and 1 power supply; if the full-color unit board is best calculated according to the maximum power when it is fully bright;

a. The number of unit boards that a power supply can carry = the voltage of the power supply * the current of the power supply/the number of horizontal pixels of the unit board/the number of vertical pixels of the unit board/0.1/2

For example: semi-outdoor P10: 5V40A power supply can bring: 5*40/(32*16*0.1/0.5)=7.8, what needs to be explained here is that as long as there is a decimal point, it must go up, no matter if it is an extra 0.1, or With an extra 0.9, the performance of the display screen is better if taken upward, so 8 need to be taken here;

b. Calculate the number of power supplies required according to the total power of the screen = average total power / power of a power supply (power supply voltage * power supply current)

For example: a strip screen uses 12 P10 modules for long, and 3 P10 modules for high use. Total: 36 modules, then the number of power supplies required = 32*16*0.1*36*0.5/5/40=4.6, As mentioned above, it needs to be taken from a large amount, so 5 power supplies are needed here.

LED display power calculation method

The formula for power is P=UI;

P stands for power, U stands for voltage, and I stands for current. Usually, the power supply voltage we use is 5V, and the power supply is 30A and 40A; single color is 8 unit boards and 1 40A power supply, and double color is 6 unit boards. 1 power supply; The power of the outdoor screen is very clear in the “product parameters” on the website, and an example will be given below.

A unit needs to make an indoor 5.0 two-color electronic screen of 9 square meters, and calculate the maximum power required. First, it is very simple to calculate the number of 40A power supplies = 9 (0.244*0.488)/6=12.5=13 power supplies (to be an integer, whichever is larger), the maximum power P=13*40A*5V=2600W.

The power of a single lamp = the power of one lamp 5V*20mA=0.1W;

The power of the LED display unit board = the power of a single lamp * resolution (the number of horizontal pixels * the number of vertical pixels) / 2;

The maximum power of the screen = the resolution of the screen * the number of lights per resolution * 0.1;

The average power of the screen = the resolution of the screen * the number of lights per resolution * 0.1/2;

The actual power of the screen = the resolution of the screen * the number of lights per resolution * 0.1 / the number of scans (4 scans, 2 scans, 16 scans, 8 scans, static)
