Have you heard of “bucket screen”?
As the name suggests, the bucket screen is called a “bucket screen” or “bucket screen” because it is located in the square LED display in the center of the venue and looks like a funnel. It lags behind the U.S. NHL, NBA and other venues. But in the past few years, the bucket screen has been gradually applied.

The bucket-shaped screen display system consists of a bucket-shaped screen, a ring screen and a display control system. The design and production of the bucket screen have high technical content, the production process is complex, and the large-tonnage high-altitude suspension requires high safety and reliability; the splicing should be tight, the picture should be independent, the image display should be high-definition, and the visual effect should be better;
More importantly, the video control system requires multi-screen synchronous switching, real-time time correction, linkage control, synchronous atmosphere rendering, and true-color picture reproduction. China’s first self-designed and manufactured full-color LED bucket screen that meets the technical requirements of American NBA games was installed in Shanghai Mercedes-Benz Cultural Center in 2009, with an area of more than 400 square meters.
The screen is completed in cooperation with foreign high-end brand Omega, and the unique timing and scoring system can accurately complete the timing and scoring of the game. While playing the game in real time, it can realize the seamless connection of the game scores; the images are vivid, accurate, and the response speed is fast; the color and brightness of the display screen are consistent, and there is no mosaic phenomenon.
It also uses a dedicated video controller with powerful functions, allowing live or live TV viewers to clearly see every exciting moment of the game. Another highlight is that it is also a set of bucket-shaped screens that can be moved vertically. Not only can the overall rise and fall be adjusted at will, but also the small bucket-shaped screen on the lower layer can be retracted into a large-sized bucket-shaped screen, which can better meet different needs such as competitions and performances. .
Mercedes-Benz Cultural Center is regarded by the industry as a sample of LED bucket screen applications. Then, with the rise of sports events and the acceleration of the construction of stadiums, it has become a reference object for many stadium builders across the country.
The 176-square-meter LED bucket screen shines on the west coast of the Taiwan Strait
The largest Fuzhou Strait Olympic Sports Center in Fujian Province is like a “water drop” and a “shell” complementing each other. The main stadium is like a conch shell, the gymnasium, swimming pool, tennis hall, and three budding “water droplets”, surrounding the seashell-shaped main stadium, like a bright pearl inlaid on the west coast of the strait. The center is the main venue of the first National Youth Games, with a total of 79,672 seats, belonging to a super-large sports building.
In the design, fully considering the relatively limited space of the indoor gymnasium, the closer viewing distance and the higher density of the audience, this group of indoor bucket-shaped screens was designed. The screen is smooth and complete, and the graphic information is displayed in different directions. Clear viewing angles.
A giant sports center with a display area of 2100㎡——Suzhou Olympic Sports Center
The planned total area of the center is nearly 60 hectares, and the scale can accommodate 80,000 people. It includes a sports park, a 45,000-person stadium, a 3,000-seat swimming pool, a 10,000-person gymnasium and a national gymnasium, with a total area of 2,148.53 square meters.

Among them, the most dazzling is the LED bucket screen located in the center of the venue. This group of LED bucket screens reaches the NBA competition level standard.
The main screen is about 150㎡, and the dot spacing is only 3.91mm; the upper and lower ring screens are about 69㎡, and the dot spacing is 10mm. The 360-degree all-round viewing angle, high-definition detail presentation, good color reproduction, and smooth face-to-face switching make fans shout “good-looking and enjoyable”.
560㎡ LED giant screen hangs “Cloud Shell”——Qingdao Civic Fitness Center Gymnasium
In the same year, in Qingdao, Bincheng, a group of 560㎡ LED large screen was successfully installed and launched. “Sand of the Sea” and “Shell of the Cloud”,
The Qingdao Citizen Fitness Center Gymnasium, which imitates the shape of waves and shells, has a total investment of 2.792 billion yuan, making it the largest stadium in Qingdao’s history. The LED screen with a total area of 560 square meters is like a huge star screen, emitting a dazzling light.
The entire LED large screen is constructed of four-sided LED bucket-shaped screen and upper and lower two-layer ring screens. The bucket-shaped screen has an area of 112 square meters and is surrounded by a ring design on all sides; the top and bottom layers are constructed of two ring screens, 213.9 square meters and 229.7 square meters respectively, which are tightly spliced and independent of the screen.
The screen inclination and pixel density are designed according to the size of the venue, seats, and event requirements to ensure that each position can clearly see the screen display image and achieve a good visual effect.
Shanghai Sanlin Sports Center Bucket Screen Stadium
Sanlin Sports Center is located in Shanghai Pudong New Area, with a total construction area of about 70,498 square meters, including multiple venues. Among them, the standard competition venue on the second floor of the multi-purpose gymnasium has hosted a number of important international and domestic events such as ice hockey, short track speed skating, and figure skating.
Shanghai Hongkou Football Stadium
The 188-square-meter LED outdoor full-color LED display at Shanghai Hongkou Football Stadium is a project undertaken by Shanghai Sansi many years ago. Switching, using the principle of establishing a mapping relationship between each pixel and the corresponding pixel of the video source, real-time broadcast, no shading, mosaic, after many years, still as new.
